MapSports Ben Liyou has agreed to terms with the Gold Coast Titans through to the end of the 2024 season. Liyou who hails from the Northern Rivers area in NSW has been involved with the Gold Coast system from his early to mid teen years.
The blossoming front rower had relocated to the Gold Coast area to support the increase in development opportunities and has been plying his trade for the past couple of years with the Tweed Head Seagulls in the Deering Cup and Host Plus Competitions, whilst also spending time with the Titans at their HQ in Parkwood. On top of that he has been juggling his University commitments where he has been working through his Mechanical Engineering degree and work placement with his ever increasing commitments to Rugby League
Speaking with Liyou, “I’m super happy to have been afforded this opportunity. The journey so far has been intense but enjoyable and as I approach the later stages of my junior development the pathway to senior football is becoming clearer, but definitely no easier. My motivation has always been to try and be the hardest worker in the room, and that will continue as I go through this next phase.”
Speaking with staff at the Titans, “Ben has been one of our more consistent young players and has made it easy for us to put him into these opportunities because of his relentless pursuit of betterment. We know we are going to get Ben’s best efforts at training and that leads to the same efforts on the field, which is how he maintains such high levels. We are excited about the next 2 seasons, and look forward to working with Ben, through them.”
We all wish Ben the best for the next couple years at the Titans.
